Sadist is another old school USA gamer, who has been at the top of the heap in the past. Nowadays, he is working on building a rocket ship that will colonize the rest of the solar system, and in his spare time likes to own newbies on ICCUP. He's going to try and re-claim the KOTH title for team LighT, but is going up against a very good opponent, Gretorp.


Gretorp is a highly skilled Terran player from the USA and hailing from clan Lzuruha. He has been a very strong performer for USA B over the past several months, having achieved B rank on ICCUP. He is hungry for glory and fame, and will try to do what it takes to take the title. Gretorp: "got some trash? because im coming around tomorrow 5pm est" - will he collect, or go home empty handed?!

Battle Reports


Game 1 @ Othello
Sadist opens up as Red Terran top right, and Gretorp is teal Terran top left; Sadist opts for a two factory opening and then fast expands aferwards, while Gretorp goes one factory with a starport for cloaked wraiths before putting down his nexus. Sadist starts with an early unit mix consisting mostly of goliahts, while Gretorp pumps siege tanks out of his one factory in the early game. Gretorp gathers some early drop ships and attempts a drop at the backdoor of Sadist, which he fends off - and meanwhile attempts to take his 2nd natural expansion. However, Sadist fends this expand attempt off by dropping on the cliff. Sadist takes the bottom right main base and his second expansion and opens with a sort of defensive contain of Gretorp's base.

Gretorp however moves a force of some wraiths and siege tanks across the middle of the map, looking to be aggressive. He successfully takes down the bottom right main of Sadist, while Sadist moves his force towards Gretorp's base - breaking through Gretorp's defense and taking down his natural expansion. Meanwhile, Gretorp has taken the bottom left, and Sadist has taken the bottom left natural. Gretorp's attack force that killed Sadist's bottom right moved to go attack the bottom left natural, but Sadist quickly sends reinforcements to take care of them and take down the bottom left main of Gretorp. Gretorp at this point is out of minerals in his main base but has also taken the bottom right base and secured it with a few siege tanks. He desperately tries to re-take his natural and stay in the game.

Unable to break out of his main base, his bottom right base is vulnerable and a big drop by Sadist takes care of it, with no other options, Game 1 quickly ends.

Game 2 @ Longinus
For the second game, Gretorp chose Protoss, spawning at the 6 o'clock location, and Sadist took the 9 o'clock spot. Gretorp opens with a fast expand build and DT tech, while Sadist goes for a one factory expand build, playing conservatively and placing mines across the map for good measure. Sadist moves out with a small force to contain Gretorp, making a turret and bunker outside his main stopping an initial DT from doing any damage while he secures his own expansion. Gretorp goes for a very fast arbiter tech, playing a low eco style and starts up his 4th-7th gateways, finishing zealot speed, and Sadist starts to make more factories.

Both players macro up and Sadist keeps edging closer and closer to Gretorp's base, trying to abuse positioning to snipe at his buildings. Gretorp waits for his arbiters to finish building and his army to grow. Gretorp's arbiter finishes and he tries to break the contain of Sadist but in the process loses almost his whole army, while the contain stands intact. A second volley of troops from Gretorp succeeds at breaking the contain - Sadist ran out of comstats and lost his engineering bay. Sadist sets up another blockage by the ramp, but Gretorp recalls a small force of troops and attacks the second natural that has just finished for Sadist. Sadist, low on scans cannot really handle the attack

Gretorp has now taken his second natural and is looking to take the 5 o'clock double gas expansion. Sadist does not have the forces or scans to be able to always see Gretorp's army. Gretorp recalls troops into the main base of Sadist. After two recalls into his main base, both players are left with 91 supply, and Sadist is finally able to secure his second natural. With Gretorp's attack thwarted, Sadist again looks to go on the offensive, taking out the probes at Gretorp's second natural and slowly building up his forces. A push into Gretorp's second natural succeeds in killing off all his troops, and Gretorp types out.

Game 3 @ Gaema Gowon
Gretorp opens as Terran once again at the 7 o'clock location, and Sadist opens at the 1 o'clock location. Gretorp starts with a two factory vulture build, and Sadist has one factory in his base then tries to make a proxy factory at Gretorp's second natural. He is able to scout the proxy and win the game with ease.

Game 4 @ Andromeda
Sadist opens up top left and Gretorp opens bottom right. Sadist tries to double proxy barrack in the middle of the map, but Gretorp cross-scouts and sees them. Sadist is forced to cancel the cheese and goes for a one factory starport build, while Gretorp goes two factories. Sadist expands then quickly sends an SCV to the 12 o'clock island to secure a third base, while Gretorp double expands at his natural and mid right. Both players have failed drpo attemps, and Gretorp sets up a contain outside the main of Sadist. After macroing up, Sadist breaks out of the contain and looks to go on the offensive. Sadist roams around the top of the map and tries to go in to kill the mid right expansion, however a badly positioned attack fails and Sadist loses most of his army while Gretorp takes minimal losses. Knowing he now has the advantage, Gretorp makes his move.

A big drop by Sadist does little damage and is fended off by Gretorp, and Sadist drops again at the top right base, taking down expansions by Gretorp. Gretorp however moves across the map with a huge force, sieging behind Sadist's no gas expand and taking it down. Sadist moves in to mid right for a drop but sees troops sieged there defending and leaves the game.

Game 5 @ Python
Sadist starts at the 3 o'clock location, and Gretorp starts at the 7 o'clock location. Gretorp goes for a one factory expand build and Sadist goes for a two factory rush build. Sadist quickly attacks with marines and vultures with some scv support, and Gretorp is unable to fend off the attack, although microing well, the units from two factories overpower him and the game ends quickly.
