Argentina Star Player Lionel Messi and Barcelona Club became the soccer's most valuable brands, while Real Madrid grad the second position, previously they were at fifth position.
According to "The University of Navarra's Economics, Sport and Intangibles Research Group" Argentina Star player Lionel Messi got the first place with 21.6 points in the players category.
This Spanish University considered the media values like internet presence and the volume of press articles in their survey.
Portuguese star player Cristiano Ronaldo got the second place with 19.6 points. Englands striker and Manchester United Wayne Rooney got the third place with 13.6 points.
World Champions and European Club Barcelona grab the first place in the Clubs category with 96.6 points on the basis of winning six trophies in the year 2009 and Real Madrid jumped to second place from fifth place with 83 points.
Manchester United were third with 65.4 points, followed by Chelsea with 59.7 points, AC Milan with 56.2 points and Liverpool got 49.1 points.
"There has never before been a similar gain in media value in such a short time in the five seasons we have been conducting this study," author Francesc Pujol told.
